    :
This is a very interesting item. MP stands for "Mallet Percussion" but this instrument was never built. The Star Instrument company in Stafford springs, CT went out of business the same year. As evidenced here Star
had an anlalog mallet instrument in the works called the Synare MP designed by Bill Katoski. Basic model price was to be 95 and they termed it "The Cadillac Of The Synare".
    THE MP
    never went into production.
Later, in 1986 during the digital midi revolution, Katoski developed it into the Kat MIDI Percussion Controller. The rest is history.  The brochure has no color photos, just a basic artist's sketch and details of it's features on the back.
