    VINTAGE HOLMES & EDWARDS "DANISH PRINCESS"
    INLAID SILVERPLATE TEASPOONS
    PATTERN INTRODUCED 1938

    Holmes and Edwards inlaid silverplate used a unique process to inlay sterling silver in high wear locations.  Then the entire piece was silver-plated.  This process was patented, and term inlaid silver was trademarked.  Holmes & Edwards flatware frequently has a back stamp reflecting that the inlay process was used.
    The design "Danish Princess" was created by Lillian V.M. Helander.  The design features Acanthus Leaf with Beaded Border (see photos.)
