Former Syracuse coordinator the top choice to take same position at Florida State (report)

Syracuse, N.Y. — Former Syracuse defensive coordinator Tony White, widely praised for his work during his time at SU, is the top choice to take the same position at Florida State, according to a report by On3.com’s Pete Nakos.
White is currently the defensive coordinator at the University of Nebraska, after leaving the Orange two years ago to take a position on Matt Rhule’s staff.
White is reportedly making $1.6 million this season with Nebraska. The Cornhuskers finished 6-6, finishing .500 for the first time in eight seasons.
Nebraska’s defense ranked 20th in the country this season, allowing just 19.83 points per game. The Cornhuskers finished 19th in total defense, allowing 315.4 yards per game.
White’s 3-3-5 defenses were regularly the strength of the Syracuse team during the final years of the Dino Babers era. He was the defensive coordinator at Syracuse from 2020 to 2022.
